Migration Week is a biennial event hosted by the United Nations Network on Migration (Network) aimed at promoting dialogue on migration-related issues within the framework of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration (GCM).
The theme for the 2024 Migration Week is "Implementing the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration: Progress and Challenges." Casa Ucrania Foundation encourages its partners to hold or participate in events and activities to further the implementation of the GCM.
Migration Week 2024, scheduled from January 29 to February 2, aims to raise awareness, mobilize support, and foster dialogue on safe, orderly, and regular migration.
Why Participate?
Raise Awareness: Increase global awareness of the GCM and the importance of safe migration.
Mobilize Support: Galvanize political commitment to implement the GCM through concrete actions and new pledges.
Foster Dialogue: Facilitate discussions among policymakers, experts, and civil society to address migration challenges.
How to Participate:
Migration Week 2024 can include high-level events, policy dialogues, stakeholder consultations, knowledge-sharing sessions, exhibitions, cultural events, media engagement, and side events. Casa Ucrania Foundation invites partners to inform the Network secretariat of upcoming events via email: unmignet@iom.int.
Each event will be promoted on social media by highlighting key findings or practices identified during these events. Organizers and participants are encouraged to promote events using #MigrationWeek and tagging the Network's main account (Twitter) @UNMigNetwork.
